On behalf of the Management, Staff and Students of this institution, I express my appreciation and gratitude to the founder, former principals, and ex-members of the staff, parents and well - wishers of the school for their earnest contribution to build and nurture it.
Dear Friends,
It gives me immense delight to acquaint you with the History of St. Joseph High School.
St. Joseph High School, Solapur is an English Medium School recognized by the Government of Maharashtra. It is a Catholic School administered by the Poona Diocesan Educational Society. The glorious history of this institution trails back to the late 1800's when it was a Tamil Medium School. Later, in 1898 the English Medium School building was inaugurated under the leadership of Rev. Fr. M. F. D'Souza. This project was blessed and encouraged by Rt. Rev. Bernard Beider Linden, the then Bishop of Pune. The well-wishers of Solapur nurtured the school which gradually grew to a total strength of 108 students in 1948, comprising the Primary Section only.
As the years rolled by, the year 1953 witnessed a full-fledged school with the total strength of 382 students. The first SSC Batch, i.e. Std. XI, of four boys and nine girls appeared for the Board Exams in the same year.
The new High School building was later inaugurated in February, 1980. It is a matter of great pride and achievement to proclaim that among the 24 High Schools and Primary and 3 Junior Colleges of the Poona Diocesan Educational Society, this is the second institution to celebrate its centenary.
Today, St. Joseph School stands as one of the most reputed schools of the city. The total strength of the students is 2300, catered - to by 71 teaching and non-teaching members of the staff.
On behalf of the Management, Staff and Students of this institution, I express my appreciation and gratitude to the founder, former principals, and ex-members of the staff, parents and well - wishers of the school for their earnest contribution to build and nurture it. I wish to wind up by saying that we are assured of the similar collaboration of the people of Solapur. We look forward to many more outstanding achievements to brighten up the future of this institution.
Let us thank God for all the blessings He has showered on us and pray that He may continue to bless the school.
Thank you.

I take this opportunity to express my deep sense of gratitude to you dear parents, our well wishers, & friends for the valuable support, co-operation, encouragement & help. We always count on your generosity and assistance.
1] You, the parents, are the real educators of your children. The school is just a helper, playing a secondary role in this matter. Please, therefore , involve yourself in your children's education, be interested in their homework and studies and give us a helping hand to educate your child effectively.
2] Parents are informed that occasional reports and recommendations from teachers are made in the school diary. They are to sign them as a proof that they have read them.
3] Parents or guardians or other persons are not allowed to see the children or to meet the teachers during working hours without the permission of the Principal. Members of the Staff can be met only by previous appointment or during the recess.
4] Except for parents, brothers and sisters, no outsiders, are permitted in the school compound. Parents are responsible for the behaviour of those who come to leave their children to school or take them home or bring them lunch. Any noticed or reported misbehaviour of such persons may mean disciplinary action against the students concerned or even their dismissal.
5] Parents themselves should come and meet the Principal or teachers. The Principal and teachers will deal only with parents and not with any other relatives or employees. Parents of students of lower classes should meet the Class Teachers at least once a month.
6] Private tuitions are strongly discouraged. If there is a real need, a written permission from the Principal is required to engage a tutor. Teachers are not ordinarily allowed to give tuitions to pupils who are being taught by them.
7] The School Diary should be brought to school everyday. Parents should go through it daily and sign the remarks, if any. The Unit Test and Semester Examination results should be scrutinized and signed by the parents.

12] Parents are informed that their children are liable to be sent home, by the Principal, for any of the following reasons:
a] Not wearing the correct uniform.
b] For not attending Open House and collecting their child's results.
c] Not having a remark, made by the Principal/Supervisor/Teacher in the calendar, signed by the Parent/Guardian.
d] Not being on time for assembly or class.
e] Repeatedly forgetting to bring books.
f] Not having the non-Attendance Record duly signed.
13] All fees are due by the 15th of each month. Those who do not pay their fees on time will not be allowed to sit for the exams. Fees for April and May must be paid in March.

Rickshaw drivers should be particularly instructed about this.

6] Do not be noisy and quarrelsome : but try to be gentle, cheerful and polite.
7] Remember that study is your first duty. As a student do not neglect your home-work and assignments.
