When we think of school, we often picture classrooms, lessons, and teachers. But behind the scenes, there is a whole team of people who make sure every day runs smoothly. They may not stand in front of the class, but their care and hard work keep our school safe, clean, and welcoming.
Take our school bus drivers, for example. Every morning, they greet children with a smile, making sure each one arrives safely and on time. They know the children’s names, notice when someone is feeling shy or sleepy, and often become the first friendly face a child sees in the day.
Then there are our cleaning and maintenance staff. Long before the first bell rings, they are already busy ensuring that every classroom, corridor, and playground is clean and ready for learning. They fix what’s broken, keep the spaces safe, and take pride in making our school look beautiful.
Our office and administrative staff are another vital part of the team. They are the voices on the phone helping parents with queries, the hands managing important paperwork, and the friendly faces who welcome visitors at the gate.
And we mustn’t forget the gardeners, helpers, and canteen staff. From planting flowers that brighten our grounds to serving healthy meals that fuel growing minds, they add to the heart and soul of the school in countless ways.
These everyday heroes work quietly, often without recognition, yet they make a world of difference in the lives of our students. They are the reason our school feels like a second home safe, warm, and full of care.
At St. Joseph’s, we believe it’s important for our children to know and appreciate each one of them. After all, it takes a community to help a child grow, and our support staff are a very special part of that community.
